So, What Is It?

It’s one of several kinds of piercings men can get in their penis and surrounding genitalia. The Prince Albert piercing is named for its almost crown-like positioning. It is a piercing placed at the head of the penis, hence the name.

Whether you plan on getting one or are on the fence about getting one, listen up. There’s potential you could still come across one of these fine pieces of jewelry in your sexual endeavors as a gay man. They are more common than you think and I’m here to tell you first off, do not be scared.

Personally, I love everything about my Prince Albert piercing. I wish I had known a couple of things before getting one though, so I wanted to share that info with you.

How it looks in selfies, bomb. What it feels like during sex, incredible. What my partner(s), depending on my mood, have to say about it – they too enjoy the many pleasures of being with someone with a pierced dick. This goes for the giving and receiving end. However, there are some people who may not enjoy it, and that’s okay! I’ll touch on that shortly.

Now, I know there are several types of penis piercings that men can get, but since I only have this one it’s the only one I am well versed in. If a Prince Albert is on your bucket (or fuck-it list in this case) then let me go over some pros and cons/do’s and don’ts you should be aware of beforehand. For those not interested in getting one I cover the sensual side of a Prince Albert for you to learn about in case you encounter one or your partner is contemplating one.

Perks of a Prince Albert Piercing:

  • Aesthetics– If you find yourself often attracted to piercings, tattoos, and more rebel-edgier sides of men, chances are you’ll love a pierced dick. Pair a nice thick cock with a solid piercing in it, not only shows some strength and courage but also has you now wondering how it would feel inside of you. Am I right or am I right? As I mentioned earlier too, it can really take your dick pics to the next level. Example pictures and videos can be found on my OnlyFans page.

  • Sensation– Now you’re curious, ‘What does that feel like?!’ Like any kind of sensation or stimulation, it will always vary from person to person. Here is my take away from being able to experience both perspectives
    • From a Top POV- there is definitely an added sensation to the head of the penis when either jerking off or when inside of someone. If you are a top, be cautious when fucking with the piercing in. You’ll want to make sure it’s not getting pulled or irritated from the friction. Certainly, wait plenty of time for it to heal too if it is a new piercing. Consult with your piercer on heal time, but I believe it’s about 4-6 weeks.
    • From a Bottom POV- also an added bonus feeling while the piece of jewelry is inside of you and is rubbing against the inside of your hole. It can even act as a second stimulator against your prostate.

Let’s Talk Removing It

  • Removal– That being said, another pro to the PA is that it can be easily removed. Some people don’t get any extra bonus from it or may even find it irritating. Luckily it can be easily taken out in a matter of seconds and placed back in once done. Some people may be hesitant to experiment with a pierced dick. If that’s the case, simply remove it. Once you’re done and cleaned up, place it back in.

  • Removal pt. 2– So you need a PA break, no worries! Pop the jewelry out and store it in a clean container and where you won’t lose it. Being such a larger than average piercing size, you won’t have to worry about the hole closing anytime soon. I know some piercings, like ears, can close fast but my PA hole has stayed open even after going years without my jewelry in.
    • I once lost my piercing while moving, and didn’t replace it for 3 years and my hole was still open! Now everyone is different, so I recommend if you do take an extended break from wearing any jewelry in it, go to a professional piercer and asking them to help you evaluate whether or not the hole is still open or not. They’ll be able to assist in finding out if the hole is in fact still open and which size jewelry you should be wearing. This saves you the possibility of causing any trauma to yourself by accident.
    • I went to a local piercing studio when I was living in Palm Springs to finally replace the jewelry I had lost. They made the process of evaluating if my hole was still open and what size to get incredibly easy and pain-free. Be smart and go to a professional for help.

Negatives of Having a Prince Albert:

  • Healing– Just like any common piercing, there is a healing period for the PA. Typically, healing is done in about 4-6 weeks. This does vary by person. Mine took about five weeks to heal, but I’ve had friends say theirs took up to 8 weeks to heal.

  • Dry spell– Oh yes, during those 4-6 weeks it is highly recommended to not engage in sexual activity. Both individual and partner activities are off-limits while you heal. This helps facilitate the healing process, and not cause the healing tissue around the piercing to become damaged or irritated. Not letting it heal properly could lead to minor rips and tears at the site and cause a great deal of pain or scar tissue build-up.
    • Yes now is a great time to practice bottoming, or continue to embrace your power bottom self.

Using the Bathroom

  • Bathroom break– Gotta go? Well here’s where you might really find some discomfort. Over the next 4-6 weeks, your piercing will be healing, and not fully covered or protected like a scab would normally cover a cut. Your highly sensitive and vascular dick is now exposed and about to have urine, which is acidic in nature, wash right in and over it. This one is kind of pro and con:
    • Pro– urine is often fairly acidic in nature based on how hydrated you are, which means it will actually aid in self-cleaning the new piercing as you pee. Thus, it’ll help keep it from getting infected.
    • Con– it’s not always the most pleasant feeling the first few times and does take some getting used to. As it heals, it becomes easier until you no longer notice it. I recommend staying more hydrated so your urine is less pronounced when it hits your piercing. It’ll still aid in cleaning it, but not be as painful.

  • Bathroom Break continued…– So you’re all healed up, yay! The next challenge is learning to pee standing up without spraying piss all over your pants. Depending on jewelry type and size, urine will sometimes spray off of it in a different direction than you anticipated. Word of advice is either just play it safe and sit, or practice at home and see what happens.
    • Also to note: If your jewelry is out, make sure you’ve got an extra finger covering the new hole in your dick. For some, urine can also manage to trickle out of there even when jewelry is out. It’s best to play it safe before you make a mess.

So after careful and very thorough educational consideration, you’ve decided to get one, sweet!

Piercing Day Tips

  • Pee before you get it done, hell, might as well get laid or bust a nut before your dry spell

  • Wear underwear, briefs are preferred and help in holding the glove/gauze in place the first few hours after being pierced so they can catch any residual blood.

  • Once the piercing is in and done, the piercer will roll the glove off their hand and onto your dick. This will hold the gauze in place and catch any residual blood at first. (today is not the day for white underwear/shorts)

  • Be mindful of your new equipment, it’s tender and highly sensitive at first. When you’re ready to start using it go slow. Make sure you watch for any signs of pulling, irritation, or tearing near the piercing. Take your time and do not rush this process.

Once healed up and adjusted, enjoy!
